You will be involved in the design and delivery process from inception to completion, work alongside an experienced chartered structural engineer and play a key role delivering new and refurbishment projects. Company Profile: One of the UK’s longest established and independently owned consulting practices, employing fifty personnel. Their primary focus is building structures, in this discipline area they stand out for the breadth and depth of their expertise. This covers the design of new and refurbishment projects, urban-regeneration, forensic investigations, expert witness, and conservation. This structural engineering work is supported by an established civil engineering infrastructure team. The practice has consistently performed over the decades, they have avoided reliance on any one sector, their current workload being split between the private, public, health, industrial, education and institutional sectors. Training is of a high standard, they provide support to become chartered or incorporated through the ICE and IStructE. The practice has a core of highly experienced chartered civil and structural engineers with expertise in providing mentorship and training.

Your Role: Preparation of conceptual and detail design using British Standards and Eurocodes, design and analysis using Auto CAD, Tekla Structures and Master series, construction phase monitoring, attending design team meetings, responding to client requests for information and providing input at concept and client advisory stages.

Your Profile: Three or more years’ experience focused on building structures design, including knowledge of steel and reinforced concrete. Degree qualified with a  2:1, or above in civil or structural engineering.  Keen to take advantage of training provided and work towards chartership or incorporation. Good interpersonal skills are essential, our client collaborates closely with its clients, providing a high level of customer care. Project delivery is a team effort, and you should be a team player. Knowledge of Auto CAD and industry standard design and analysis software is essential.  The wide variety of structures and engineering challenges that will be encountered requires good analytical and lateral thinking skills.
