Overview
Our client, a leading international forensic consultancy has an opportunity for a structural engineer seeking a new career in a buoyant and varied industry. This is an opportunity to apply all of your technical expertise whilst gaining new and sort after skills. The position provides training and mentorship, it is a move to a consistent sector commanding high fee margins and excellent prospects. Previous forensic experience is not required, their experts are recruited directly from their respective industries.
The Role: The investigation of a broad range of structural engineering failures typically affecting buildings, bridges and civil structures. This will include an initial site visit and the review of the design, construction methodology, site conditions and materials used. If required, you will oversee component/ material testing and gather photographic evidence. Using this information, you will unravel the cause of the failure culminating in a report identifying the root cause of the problem and why it occurred. Variety is a feature of forensic engineering, whilst your main focus will be on building structures you can expect assignments in other areas requiring structural insight. A team of experts is on hand to provide advice in areas requiring more specialist input.

About You: A structural engineer with a consulting engineering background with at least three years experience. This will ideally have focused on the design of building or civil structures. You should be degree or HND qualified with a well a developed technical and practical grasp, and have natural curiosity be a lateral thinker. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
