Overview
An opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to take up a position as an Associate with a leading UK practice. This is a key role to oversee design and delivery, whilst working closely with clients and developers. Their growing workload has resulted in a strong order book, providing the ideal conditions to progress your career whilst working on prestigious projects. New commercial, residential and industrial/ technology projects feature heavily within their portfolio. Their work spans high value low rise to high-rise projects. There will be regular collaboration with leading architects and their in-house civil engineering team.
Company Profile: One of the UK’s largest and longest established independently owned civil and structural engineering consultancies. Building structures remains by far their biggest discipline, they also have a highly evolved technical capability within transportation, water & environmental and geotechnical engineering. Their work has garnered awards from the BCI, ICE and IStructE, their building structures project workload has an emphasis on larger scale commercial and residential schemes. Their London office is home to their largest contingent of building structures engineers, it is a highly resourced and modern working environment. Support and mentoring to achieve chartership with the IStructE and ICE is available, as is an on-going programme of CPD activities.
Strong interpersonal skills are required to manage junior engineers and technicians, and to forge productive relationships with clients, whilst co-ordinating with other engineering disciplines. Reporting to the London based Structures Director you will provide input at fee negotiation and client advisory stages. You will go on to provide scheme design and manage detail design production. Your technical background must include expertise in RC and steel design and the adaptability to work with other materials when required. A good academic background is preffered with a 2:1 degree or above in civil or structural engineering. You should be nearing chartered status or have achieved chartered status with the ICE or IStructE.
