Company Overview: Long established and independently owned the practice investigates and determines the root cause of failures affecting infrastructure, buildings, and industrial assets.  This encompasses highways, tunnels, bridges, high-rise buildings, ports and airports.  Their workload is national and international on behalf of insurers, loss adjusters, legal practices and client companies.  They are leading player and highly regarded for their technical expertise. Most of their employees are chartered civil or structural engineers with backgrounds in consulting engineering.

The Role: You will apply your structural engineering expertise to establish the root cause of a failure, starting with a visual inspection and culminating in a report setting out your findings. Working closely with clients you will help develop existing business relationships and provide input on commercial and managerial issues. Your learning and development path will be continuous, and you will be expected to stay updated on industry trends and technical advances.

Training & Support: Support will be provided to help you learn how to effectively apply your expertise from a forensic investigation perspective. This will focus on conducting site investigations and presenting your findings.

Your Profile: A consulting engineer with building structures or civil structures design expertise. You should be a chartered civil engineer (MICE) or chartered structural engineer (MIStructE), have a strong technical background and a talent for thinking laterally. A willingness to embrace a diverse workload that presents an array of new technical challenges. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
