Overview: You will be a key member of a team of seven civil engineers in a practice with a reputation for delivering projects focused on regeneration and sustainability. Civil engineering is a lead discipline within the firm which also has a structural, transportation and highways engineering capability . Their drainage and flood alleviation expertise is at the heart of their business, rather than a complimentary discipline, making the prospects for career development excellent. They provide policy development and guidance, flood mapping, hydraulic modelling, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies through to fully engineered SUDs designs. Their client base is varied with an emphasis on major public realm civic space and residential projects. Their work has been credited with a number of awards for design and sustainability.
Your Role: With the support of the associate you will provide technical leadership for the delivery of sustainable drainage schemes and will help advise clients on flood risk management strategies. You will have the option of being based in their highly resourced central London office, or of being home based. You will be expected to be present at their London office at least once per week. An important aspect of your role will providing guidance to junior engineers and communicating with clients.
About you: A degree qualified civil engineer ideally with five years’ or more drainage design and flood alleviation experience. A good communicator, able to forge productive working relationships with colleagues and clients, capable of supervising and encouraging the development of junior engineers. Good organisational and lateral thinking skills.
