Overview

Training and invaluable experience is on offer with this civil engineering design and build contractor. They are well established and respected within the rail sector and have a growing workload. They have an opportunity for a CAD technician with around a year or more computer aided design experience gained in a civil engineering, structural or building environment. As a junior member of their in-house design team you will work under the guidance of a senior technician and engineer and be given the opportunity to learn and progress. You will become skilled in using MicroStation to prepare steel, concrete and masonry drawings. There will be regular site visits for survey purposes (a driving licence is essential). Projects include station improvements, new roof canopies, load bearing foundations, signal gantries, escalators, marshalling yards and platform extensions. Day release to complete HNC studies is on offer for a suitable and successful candidate.
