Overview
Our client, a highly regarded specialist civil and structural consultancy is able to provide design, site experience and support to become a chartered engineer. The expertise you will acquire is highly sought after, it will develop your technical capabilities and practical understanding of buildability issues whilst working closely with the UK’s leading developers and contractors. Their project workload is nationwide with an emphasis on complex, high profile building schemes in Central London. The company is a leader in the design of temporary works for major projects in city centre locations requiring challenging civil and structural engineering input. They provide detailed design and sequencing expertise to contractors and developers and front-end advice at tender and concept stages.
Your Role: As a member of their design team your work will encompass steel and RC designs for façade retention, basement excavations, propping, shoring, plus a myriad of temporary works related design solutions. As you progress you will work more closely with clients and provide pre-construction advice and liaise with their site based project managers and directors. This is a career that straddles the consulting and contracting sectors, you will develop invaluable technical and practical skills, and a deep understanding of buildability issues. These are highly sought after abilities that will enhance your career potential.
Your Profile: You will have a 2:1 degree, or above, in civil or structural engineering from a reputable university. You should ideally have upwards of two years’ design experience with a consultancy or contractor, building structures or civil engineering experience is equally desirable.
