Overview

A structural technician with building or civil structures experience is required by a leading and long established independent consultancy. The practice specialises in the design of predominantly commercial, residential, historic and educational buildings. With the support of their senior engineers you will be involved in the whole design and drafting process. Your duties will include, carrying out site surveys, assisting with basic design calculations and the production general arrangement drawings and details using Auto CAD.

About you: Your experience to date should ideally have focused on building structures. You will need to be fluent in the use of Auto CAD and qualified to HNC level or above. Good team working skills are essential, there will be close contact with clients, regular design team meetings and occasional site visits. Good communication skills and an eye for detail are essential. There will be the need to co-ordinate with other disciplines and to ensure information you prepare and communicate is clear and accurate.
